Brow vs Brow

reviews / Thursday, March 29th, 2018

It’s no surprise that drugstore brands always try and dupe other high end products.

There was a huge hype when the ‘Gimme Brow’ by Benefit came out. I am not sure if it was the first pigmented brow gel but it certainly is not the last. After that, Essence came out with a dupe called the “Make me Brow” which has a similar consistency, look and overall, pretty much the same product!

I have been wanting to do this review for quite a long time, I have used both the Benefit and the Essence brow products for some time and they honestly give the exact same look in my opinion.

I have quite tame and full brows so I am at an advantage when it comes to brows. With that being said, as a makeup artist, I have used both on clients so I can safely say that I still believe they are dupes.

Here is a breakdown of both products:

I still have the old packaging. I kept it because I needed to do this review lol!

Price: $24,00 / 27,04 euros

Colour selection: 3

To me, this is the OG of brow products. Benefit is known for their brow products so you know it is mostly going to be amazing

Price: $3 /2,59 euros

Colour selection: 2

This is a really good product. I think I am on my second or third tube of it now.

As you can see, the Essence one is a fraction of the price to the Benefit one. I believe that they are so similar so I would rather grab the Essence one to the Benefit one. Essence is also cruelty free, so there’s that 😉

Let me know your thoughts on it!
