Since before I arrived back in America, I have been thinking about what subscription box I should be getting because I really wanted to get one and really see if it is worth it. I was torn between the Sephora Play box, the Ipsy Glam bag and Boxycharm and although I have had the Ipsy one before, it was a huge decision because I wanted all the makeup but I can’t have all the makeup lol!
I decided that I would go with the Sephora Play and see what it entails. What sold me on it, is that everything you get in the box, you are able to find at Sephora already so it’s easy, convenient and you can have fun with it. I do have a few concerns though. The products that are in the boxes (well bag) are not exclusively cruelty free. While I have been getting some cruelty free/vegan items; they are not exclusively cruelty free and I don’t expect them to be at all obviously but it is something I am passionate about so I will have to see how long I can keep this bag. I do want to have it for a couple months though to get a proper review on it before I make my decision. With all that being said, let’s get into my first box!
I was super excited to get this box and I honestly checked for it in the email every day for about a week before it came lol! These are the products I got in my box:
1.The beauty blender solid (Cruelty Free) – I am actually really excited to use this. I generally use a soap bar because it’s just easy but everyone raves about this and it’s such a great time to try it out!
2. Clinique Almost lipstick in Black Honey (NOT Cruelty Free) – I actually have been using this quite a bit. I am horrible with putting chap stick on recently and this has been a life saver. It has a slight colour to it but nothing too crazy and it really is so good!
3.Belif Aqua Bomb Sleeping Mask (Cruelty Free) – This was a really good sample and I think I will be picking up a full size of this.
4.Hum Nutrition Daily Cleanse (Cruelty Free) – I haven’t looked at these properly or even read the information. My friend has been taking these and she likes them but I don’t know for sure. I will try it and update you here 🙂
5.Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask (NOT Cruelty Free) – I REALLY wish Origins would get their life together and be cruelty free because I haven’t had a single thing that I haven’t liked from them and this is no exception. It’s such a great mask and I hope that they become cruelty free so I can get it again. It really helps my skin. I feel like it clears it, and brightens it without drying it out completely.
6.Bite Beauty Agave Lip Balm (Cruelty Free) – This was the bonus item that I got this month which I am excited for. I haven’t tried it though but it has fantastic reviews so I can’t wait until I do try it eventually.
Overall, I was quite happy with my first month of the subscription! I hope it carries on being great! Do you get any subscription boxes? Let me know! I would love to try some that aren’t very mainstream!
